Sen. Rand Paul: ‘We’re going to do our jobs’ to repeal Obamacare
Rand Paul said on Sunday that the Senate will soon take up repealing Obamacare.
But the Kentucky Republican was careful not to talk about his party’s prospects in the upcoming vote on repealing the law, or any other piece of legislation.
The Kentucky Republican said on ABC’s This Week that his party will move forward with repealing the Affordable Care Act.
Paul was speaking in the wake of House Republicans voting to pass the bill, a move that many in his party say will help Republicans take control of Congress next year.
Republicans have vowed to take a hardline stance on the healthcare law and have refused to allow amendments to be put on the bill that would expand access to health insurance.
Republicans say they are ready to take up any healthcare legislation in the new year, and have signaled they will move on repealing and replacing the law.
Democrats have said the Senate should hold a vote before any legislative action takes place on the House bill.
